Browsing topics and posts
When you first come to AMDIS Community you'll find a list of all topics ordered from newest to oldest.
Topics above the light red line are new or updated since your last visit. If you have read all the way to the end of a topic, its title will be light grey instead of black.
Selecting a topic will show you the full post and all its replies. You can use the "scrubber" on the right-hand side to quickly navigate long threads.
Searching on AMDIS Community
To search AMDIS Community for posts, users, topics or categories click on the magnifying glass in the top-right of the screen:
If you want more control over your search, you may go to the advanced search page, expand the "Advanced Search", then specify further criteria to refine your search (only posts matching your criteria will be returned):
Posting and replying by email
You can post a new topic by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The email subject will be the title of the topic so make sure it is concise and representative of your topic's body since the subject may be the only thing some members will see.
To reply to a topic simply send a reply via email and your response will be delivered to the mailing list.
Important: Plain text messages are best for AMDIS Community. If you'd like to embed rich content such as Word document snippets, HTML tables, or any other advanced formatting we advise you attach your content as an attachment so that it can be viewed consistently by all members of the mailing list.
Posting and replying on the AMDIS Community website
You may also post and reply to topics on AMDIS Community itself. Start a new topic by visiting the Dashboard and clicking the “+ New Topic” button.
When viewing a topic on AMDIS Community, click “Reply” on any post you would like to reply to.
AMDIS Community accepts simple HTML as well as "markdown" formatting. If you'd like to learn more about using markdown, visit this 10-minute tutorial.
- When replying to a topic please do not change the subject line: create a new topic instead. This will make it easier for others to find your posts.
Updating your preferences (including your email address)
Members of AMDIS Community have the ability to customize their user profile to provide additional information about themselves to others. To modify your own details, visit your preferences by clicking your avatar image in the top-right corner, then the gear icon.
Here you'll be able to change your username, your email address, password and other details about yourself (some of which will be shown to other members).
Resetting your password
If you need to reset your password, you can update your preferences and click the "Send Password Reset Email" button.
If you cannot log in and are on the homepage, you can click the "Log In" button and then the "Reset my password" link to have a reset email sent to you.
